LA animal lovers ❤️ Colin and I found this darling little six-year-old Chihuahua mix burrowed in dirt at the side of the road, having been hit by a car days earlier. She had basically given up on life. Prior to that we heard she had been seen with a homeless person who had abandoned her. Before then, we don’t know, but I get the impression she was a mama to many dogs in her past. But she trusted us to gently put her in our car, and bring her to an emergency vet. They found multiple breaks in her femur, fractures in her left hip, and the surgery to fix / potentially amputate her one leg is now set for Monday. She is TRULY a sweetheart. Sooo gentle and kind and quiet, has shown zero aggression to anyone even though she is navigating this pain, and right now, she doesn’t move much from this bed. After Monday, it will be a month or so of recovery, in a pen, cozy, inside somewhere. @dogswithoutborders will be helping and will provide a foster parent with the pen, pee pads, food, etc, and it will just be about giving her love, reassurance, food and medication, and keeping her quiet until she regains her strength. I’m at a kind neighbour’s house in the meantime with her, but we are looking for someone who can step in as early as today, to help this little girl out. Even if you have availability for just the next few nights, or if you are able to commit to her entire recovery, please message me, and share to those who come to mind. She’s a special little heart and needs someone whose heart can open wide for her too. ☺️☺️ Again – this is just a temporary foster situation, so any help / commitment of time is needed and sought.
