They reminded me that innovation and positive change are always happening around us. 🌵 Two friends created leather out of cactus, in turn saving 1 billion animals from being killed for the sake of fashion. Adrian and Marte, who are based out of Mexico, call this vegan leather “Desserto” and it is shocking how similar it looks and feels to real leather “without harming the environment or animals in the process.”— a creative and thrilling discovery that will make the fashion industry more humane and sustainable. Under a new law in California, the state is required to pay them each $140 for every day they spent behind bars—never enough, but at least establishing consequences for grave injustices in our penal system. Debra Messing Instagram – What a thrill it was to be at the Men’s Finals at the US Open! A great match, even if it was in straight sets. The @usopen is my favorite thing to happen each year. I grew up on tennis. My brother played competitively so it was McEnroe, Borg, Navratilova, Everett, Graff, Davenport, Agassi, Sampras, Federer, Williams, and you know the rest! Watching athletes at the top of their sport is always awe inspiring, but to watch it live? Unforgettable. Thank you @lavazzausa for being such gracious hosts to my brother and me. Grazia! You never know who you’re going to run into. @stephruhle and @shilpay was in the box next to ours. Until next year, and congratulations to all the extraordinary players who competed this year. See you next year. 🤞🏼

Debra Messing Instagram – Sleepovers with your BFF never stop as you grow up, they just get cooler aka now sleepovers are in DC at the Waldorf preparing to see the Vice President! Thank you @waldorfastoriadc for an amazing stay. The suite was unlike any I have ever stayed in. Soaring 30 foot ceilings, chandeliers everywhere, a bottle of tequila, salt and lime awaiting our arrival! We were treated like royalty, and I can’t say enough about how nice the staff was. A sleepover to remember!
