Girija Oak Instagram – The past week has been by far the most exciting, eventful, scary and fulfilling one I have ever experienced because Gauhar came into my life! ‘Gauhar Jaan’ was a legendary singer, performer of the early 19th century who broke a glass ceiling by being the first voice ever to be recorded on a wax record. She was truly a remarkable singer, composer and songwriter. I am so glad @lilletedubeyofficial decided to tell her story on stage and @neenakulkarni thought of suggesting my name for the part. Playing Gauhar Jaan has been an absolute honour. Cannot wait to go back on stage as her again. See you on the other side of the curtain 💗
