Karen David is a multi-hyphenate talent- actress and singer/songwriter who has had success in film, TV, stage, and music. She recently wrapped up a four-season run on AMC’s FEAR THE WALKING DEAD and starred in the CBS movie WHEN CHRISTMAS WAS YOUNG, where she also recorded and released the title track. Karen has had recurring roles on popular shows like BARRY, LEGACIES, THE ROOKIE, and ONCE UPON A TIME. She also had a lead role in ABC’s GALAVANT, where she showcased her singing talent alongside Alan Menken. In the film, Karen appeared in the critically acclaimed LAND OF GOLD, which premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and has just finished filming ISABEL’S GARDEN.

Rabia, born and raised in East London, performed on stage at renowned theatres and studied Archaeology at the University of Sheffield. She received a grant from Google & PGA to produce the short film “Haider, Texas” as part of the Producer’s Guild America’s ‘Create Fellowship Program’. Some of her credits include films like “The Edge of Everything” and “Angelfish”, as well as working on projects like “The Climb” and American Zoetrope’s Fairyland. She has also worked on TV shows like AMC’s Bottomless Brunch at Colman’s and HBO’s Chillin Island and has collaborated with various commercial clients. Rabia believes in the importance of a multicultural catalogue of film and seeks projects that broaden perspectives and tell stories outside of the mainstream. Her goal is to create a body of work that provides a safe haven for the disenfranchised, where mystique, empowerment, and belonging can be found.
Together, the trio in tomorrow’s LIVE will be exploring the advancements in diaspora South Asian visibility following the pandemic and delve deeper into how the landscape has evolved during these challenging times, challenges that the South Asian talent encounters.
Further, they will be understanding what characteristics filmmakers are seeking in short films and storytelling today.
