🗼 Clearly Invisible in Paris by Koel Purie Rinchet is one of the most complex books yet it will put you in a daze.
🗼To be honest, I wanted to visit Paris when I was daydreaming of travelling, and the way this book portrayed Paris will create your own image of Paris in your mind.
🗼This book revolves around four girls from completely different backgrounds coming to a city—a city that they want to be “home” for them, which seems impossible, but eventually Paris becomes their identity, their world away from their other world.
🗼With its beautiful and rich vibes, its blurb attracted me in seconds, like I hadn’t even thought of anything and went for this one, and this was one of my great choices.
🗼 Neera , a girl living a luxurious life with her rich husband,
While Rosel struggles with her life to have a stable life in Paris so she can bring her son some happiness, she works as a housekeeper (nanny).
🗼Dasha is a girl who is comforting for everyone, but sometimes she forgets to comfort herself, wanting to walk on the ramp like she owns the world.
🗼Violet, a trans woman and strong, beautiful dancer
🗼All these 4 girls are living in Paris & fighting their own battles differently, yet they are all connected to each other in a beautiful way—a way where all 4 show an attitude of “never giving up”.
🗼It shows the struggles of people who have immigrant status; it shows pain & anger.
🗼The insecurities of friendship where you’re the one who is alone despite of being there 4 others.
🗼 The insecurities of a woman who works hard to earn where she can feel her family slipping from her hand, losing them to a housekeeper.
🗼A trans woman who tried to help someone who deserves the world—a bagger—but was betrayed by that person in front of the world.
🗼A woman who loses an important person, her husband, in a COVID battle feels numb in the full lights of Paris.
🗼However, sometimes I feel that there is too much explanation given, which makes me understand the story.
🗼But the plot literally put you in a daze, exploring a painful life yet full of wit, wisdom, and laughter.
