We have all committed to avoiding the following activities of being human while in your presence today: -Chewing too loudly -Chewing with our mouths open -Chewing with our mouths closed, which also makes a noise you don’t like -Speaking too much or not enough, which makes you uncomfortable -Laughing too much -Playing music -Cooking foods you hate the smell of when others are cooking it but seem not to annoy you when you make the same foods for yourself -We will all try to be well hydrated so that you will not hear any lip-smacking or dry mouth-type noises. -We will not wear too much perfume -We will repeat stories you tell us tell back verbatim so you don’t get annoyed and think we didn’t understand you, so you don’t need to clarify anything you say to us today -We will ensure we all ask you what pans to use should we want to heat any food so we don’t annoy you by using the wrong pans you feel are inappropriate pans for heating anything up -Mom will not smoke an unlit cigarette around you because you hate the popping sound it makes when she pulls it from her lips -No foot or leg shaking shall occur while seated near you -No one will breathe heavily around you even though some of us might suffocate and die due to lack of oxygen -We will avoid making ANY unnecessary noises around you. This includes any random sighing if we are thinking of something going on in our lives, and sneezing more than twice, which you believe is psychotic and annoying. -We will not chew gum -Angelo will not drink coffee today anywhere in the house because you claim you can hear it, nor will he eat cereal anywhere in the house because you swear you can hear his spoon clinking in the bowl even though we live in a 10,000-square-foot home. This list, of course, is not a complete list of offenses we commit around you, but violations we will try and avoid in the name of love and sacrifice for you on this very special day of your birth.
