Lily Cole Instagram – rock hive ~ 40,000 basalt hexagonal columns ~ formed from a lake of lava 50-60 million (or so) years ago ~ the hexagon is the most efficient shape to tessellate into ~ perhaps nature knows it’s the most beautiful shape too ~ as the bees do (divine) geometry
