Lola Blanc Instagram – My dear sweet brother, who has such a big heart and who has battled addiction his whole adult life, overdosed on fentanyl after a good stretch of sobriety followed by a quick slide downhill after a heartbreak. But he’s ALIVE. His heart stopped and he was medically dead, but he was revived by paramedics and now he’s in the hospital in Salt Lake, fighting fever and complications as he struggles to regain cognitive function – his brain was deprived of oxygen and likely suffered some damage. My mom @dr.christinemarie and I have been here with him every day since we heard, and my dad made it back from the middle of nowhere in Madagascar and is here with us now. We’re so grateful to our other family and friends who have also come to help, but we’re still very much on a rollercoaster vacillating between hopeful and terrified. I’m posting for two reasons: 1) if you know Christian, we would appreciate any messages of love we can read to him in the precious hours while he’s awake and can hear us, so he knows to keep fighting. And 2) We need to figure out some kind of housing in the Murray/Salt Lake area (around the Intermountain Medical Center), since we don’t live here and staying is growing costly – it’s day 9 and it might be a while. If anyone has a room available, or feels like contributing to our Airbnb costs (we inquired about hospital discounts at local hotels and they’re still ~$130/night), we would appreciate any help.
