Pallavi Sharda Instagram – Our artisans are the keepers of our stories. And our weavers intricately thread our histories to furnish our present with beauty and our future with legacy. I was fortunate to witness the exquisite celebration of Indian weavers at @melbournemuseum with one of my inspirations @azmishabana18 (who when I happened to meet & perform for aged 6 and mention my dream of becoming an actress… a whole other story!) – a woman who is a keeper of our stories and whose legacy is inimitable – much like the art & craftsmanship we witnessed on this day. @santati_then_now_next is still on at the Melbourne Museum until Sept 3rd. I urge any Melbournian who loves art, history & beauty and any South Asian who wishes to witness a rare exhibition of our history in Australia – go see it!
