The same morning we missed him by literally 2 mins when he walked outside the gate, just after we entered the safari On Time 🙄.. My luck with him has been such. In the evening drive, I had least hopes of getting him but all thanks to @tushar.raut35 and our guide’s brilliant tracking skills, we found him. My first long sighting of one of my most beloved tigers! A proper road show in the monsoon greens! 💚

Vernal Hanging Parrots are tiny birds & have got their name from the way they hang upside down while foraging. I’ll be sharing one of those videos very soon!

No matter how hard we try, if the tiger doesn’t want to show up, he just won’t. That’s what makes the safari experience so fascinating.
I have spent entire safari watching him sleep in the bushes, waiting for him to wake up. But he wouldn’t budge. And then safaris like these, where he walks like there’s no tomorrow.. with time, I feel my luck is getting better with him! #chotamatka 💚

BAGHEERA the ‘Bluff Master’ from Jhalana! Read to know why I call him that! 😀
This shy rugged beast is known to keep away from gypsies/ humans. Hence getting him Head-On was something I’d least expected. It was already past 6:30 pm and we had no hopes for any sighting for that evening. Something within me asked Hemant if we could check a particular area before heading out. To my surprise, he readily agreed.. just a few minutes on that route, Hemant spotted something moving in the bushes. The moment we stopped to check, Bagheera got up & tried all his antics to Bluff that he is gone further inside. Full marks to Hemant for understanding the animal’s behaviour and his next move. He parked the vehicle much ahead of where we saw him and asked us to behave as dead as possible!
After a few minutes Bagheera appeared as a shadow from the curvy path only to make his full glorious appearance! 💚
Being the only gypsy certainty helped here! Now I know the value of exclusive sighting.. 🙈

Meet Nanhi, the Malabar/ Indian Giant Squirrel from Satpura! Her bold nature & sweet antics have gained her popularity, making her the face & Mascot of Satpura Tiger Reserve. She is regularly seen at the Churna gate of the Reserve & looks for food in the gypsies parked for lunch. Though we are not allowed to feed wild animals, she knows her way out by going through every nook & corner of the vehicles. This is how she got her priced banana. What a treat it was to watch her eat, up close! 😀
I can’t wait to see her in the upcoming trip to Satpura in Nov with my fav @ecotrailz 💚
If you ever visit Satpura Tiger Reserve, apart from big cats, Nanhi is someone you should look forward to! 🐿️
