15 years ago (right after Girlfriends ended), I started building PATTERN.
I wanted to create a brand that was intentional & purposeful.
I wanted to make products that delivered on the promise of being FOR natural textured hair.
I wanted to make products for curls, coils & tight textures no matter whose head they grew out of.
I wanted to change the way that Black people were marketed to and create a space that was centered around the celebration of Black beauty & Black joy.
In honor of PATTERN’s 4th birthday (today!!!), I am re-sharing the manifesta video that we created to launch Pattern in 2019—a love letter to our curls, coils & tight textures. I am so proud of the brand that my team & I have built. We started with 7 products & now we have more than 50 formulas & tools across 4 different categories (including a Blow Dryer!!) & we have 10 retail partners all over the globe & online & it’s all because of you, our incredible family.
Thank you from the depths of my heart for making space in your bathrooms & in your lives for Pattern. We have so much more to do & create, as always, specifically with you in mind. We are more dedicated than ever to our mission to exceed the needs of our community & to uplift & celebrate our beauty, our joy & our hair.
