V. E. Schwab Instagram – A lot of people have been asking what order you can read Threads of Power in so I made a handy graphic!

But seriously, while I obviously think the happiest and most natural road in is Shades of Magic, since there are crossover characters, I also worked pretty hard to make this a friendly introduction. My dream is that one day readers will be able to choose whether to read Shades as a prequel series to Threads, or Threads as a sequel series to Shades.

If you ARE craving a “previously on” or a cliff notes version of Shades, I did a 10-ep readalong available on YT and via podcast, in which I give you a rundown of what happens!

Also, I know a great many readers who’ve found me in the last few years don’t actually consider fantasy their genre. To that I’ll say, my goal is to be a welcome threshold into this space. You’ll find all the angst and existential quandaries of Addie in the rest of my catalog, it’s just, sometimes they’re examined with magic or monsters instead of old gods.

Side note: I truly cannot believe I have written enough books now to make this summoning circle 🤯
