What an incredible honor to receive the @donaldlacyjr social justice award for our work on @matchesmovie!
@rudy1marquez and @dmarquez11 wrote a great story that touches on an issue that most don’t pay attention to, Human Trafficking and how minorities and immigrants are at a greater risk.
This hits close to home for myself as well as our amazing DP @danielgbagby , our co-producer @violeta___gf and other key crew members because of the dark history of our hometown. We are originally from Juarez Mexico, a city that for decades has suffered due to the thousands of unsolved disappearances and murders of young women.
I am also honored to have been given the Best Director award! This movie was truly a collaboration, so I share this award with our amazing and talented cast and crew.
