Colin O’Brady Instagram – 🚨 Announcing my next World Record attempt: The SUB6 Project! 🚨 Next June, my childhood best friend, @squnge, and I will be competing in the Race Across America (RAAM) @raceacrossamerica on June 15th, 2024 as a 2 person team — one of the longest, most difficult, and most prestigious endurance cycling events in the world. 3,000 miles coast to coast across the USA, RAAM is several hundred miles longer than the Tour de France, and much harder in many aspects. The clock is continuously running. ⏱️ No stage breaks. ❌ Sleep if you dare. 😴 The current world record was set in 2019: A time of 6 days, 11 hours, held by Jean Lucas Perez & Evens Stievenart of France. The goal of the SUB6 Project is to not just break the world record, but to smash it — completing RAAM in less than 6 days. This week, Lucas and I will be documenting our biggest training ride yet, cycling 1000 miles nonstop from Oceanside, CA to Durango, CO. But we tend to forget that the lows we experience in life, the 1’s, are necessary to appreciate the best moments. Our 1’s and 10’s are connected. We don’t experience our 10’s in spite of our 1’s but rather because of them. So, the next time you’re feeling down, just know that you’re not alone. And it will get better.
