Exposing children to sexualised material & keeping it secret from parents is a safeguarding risk.  My piece in @Telegraph today on why we need a legal right for parents to view sex education materials” In some ways I agree, parents should be invested and engaged with their child’s education and support them appropriately. It is not (in my view) appropriate for parents to be able to dictate what it or is not taught to children, religious belief should have no sway in children learning about the realities of the world. Giving children information just helps them to make better informed decisions. Parents are unfortunately not always the best protectors of their children they can be the perpetrators.
