Francis Ford Coppola Instagram – Many people ask me about the various arrangements/versions of THE GODFATHER films…  In my mind there is only one film, THE GODFATHER (Parts I and II) and an epilogue or ‘Coda’ THE DEATH OF MICHAEL CORLEONE. (I did not originate the idea of the “chronological” version of the story, which was created for a one-time television viewing. I thought this wouldn’t work well, as the Part II version used past and future in an intrinsic way.) I am forever grateful for the longevity and appreciation of these films and salute all who originally contributed to their integrity.
