I wanted to do a prototype of this one first to figure out the technique (If I were to repeat this I think it should be taller/thinner) – I cut out a vinyl in the curved shape and stick it on the bone dry piece and then used a technique called “water etching” which is basically rubbing down the piece with a wet sponge to wear away all the bits not protected by the vinyl sticker, which allows for a raised section. I tried another one with a crawl glaze to more closely match the prompt, so to speak, and it didn’t turn out well.
I think I have to do flowers with any vase form. Otherwise it’s incomplete. | Posted on 23/Aug/2022 21:04:11
