Hugh Sheridan Instagram – Just 2 days before the war started with the most brutal terrorist attacks from Hamas militants, i was at a cafe in Tel Aviv & met a cool Canadian who was about to head to a Kibbutz, I’d never heard of one before. He explained that it’s like a commune where you work on the land, plant trees & food, help & eat. I asked if I could come, he said he’d ask. A day later I was at a beautiful sunset beach bbq party, a prelude to the Nova Festival, all to raise money for the Israeli version of Burning Man, there I was given a ticket to the same sunrise party. I can’t tell you how many emotions I feel that I was at neither of these places when the malicious, callous & evil invasion began. I have never felt like this before. Watching CNN now I saw someone I met & was photographed with at the sunset before. He narrowly survived in the bomb shelter massacre by hiding under dead bodies.
Anyone celebrating this horrific tragedy for religious or political reasons needs to understand this is a terrorist attack. How can anyone condone or celebrate terrorism?! Neither the United Kingdom, Australia nor the US reason or negotiate with terrorists… France, Russia & Italy did with Hitler & we know how that panned out.
“You can’t reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth” My prayers are with my friends who have died, those who have managed to survive & mostly to the young people I met who are now fighting for their own, their family and their countries lives.
Their lives went from normal & beautiful to a living hell in just hours.
