Jeremy Padawer Instagram – I know you’re probably feeling the world right now. I am. I’m at the airport. Just visited my parents. Waiting to go through the metal detector the person in front of me abruptly had to turn around. It caused the person behind me to run into me. I felt a level of unusual rage. It was fleeting, but palpable. I mean I really felt it. It was maybe less than a third of a second. I heard an older voice behind me say – “I’m sorry.” I turned around. It was an old man. I felt some level of shame as I turned around to apprise the situation. I replied, “it’s ok.” If given a redo, I would have asked him how he is doing. A missed opportunity.

Right now we owe each other grace. Especially now. We’re inundated with global events with visual stimulation that is unprecedented. We all belong to something. We all have our own ideologies. We all each have only our singular life. And, all of us are inundated.

I wish you patience, kindness and grace right now. The person in the car next to you in a heated argument on their cell phone who looks at you the wrong way at a stoplight… The colleague at work who hurriedly heads to their office only to close the door in the morning… Your child or younger sister or brother who is recognizing the world isn’t as idealistic as they might have believed…. Give grace right now. A smile. A simple gesture. A moment of softness. The benefit of the doubt. 97 out of 100 times you’ll be right. The other 3, just keep your eyes open. Not blind trust. Just trust.
