I was fortunate to get the opportunity to work on the Pavitr Prabhakar character on @spiderversemovie. I was quite impressed by how thoughtful they were with the world building, deriving inspiration from Indian culture both past and present, ranging from Indian comic books, architecture, theatre, folk art, Bollywood etc. I was given the silhouette of Pavitr and I came up with these initial suit designs. I found my inspiration from Indian folk dance forms like Theyyam, Yakshagana and koothu as well as motifs from Indian architecture. I wanted him to feel Indian but still sleek and modern. Under the Boardwalk is finally out in theaters! I worked on it for about 6 months and had the opportunity to paint some cool story moments. This is Armen ,using a guitar as a shell and Ramona walking on a theme park ride. It’s a very charming and funny movie. Go check it out! .
