Nirmal Purja Instagram – This is why I guide and lead; happiness of people DOES MATTER to ME: Cho Oyu now complete on 2nd Oct at 14:00 local time with the toughest weather conditions. Straight off from Dhaulagiri without 02, my body had little time to recover. We headed for Cho Oyu with no rest and little time to recuperate. The mission: ensure our clients achieved their new possible and complete their own unique challenge with pride. We pushed direct from Tingri for our summit approach, and I can tell you now, it was some of the gnarliest weather we have ever taken on. On a good day, Cho Oyu is regarded as one of the easiest climbs, but for our summit push this wasn’t the case! The mountain tested every one of us – my micro navigation skills from UKSF came into practice and having a fellow military commando @Tejan.g on the exped was extremely useful. We battled some of the coldest winds and full white out conditions with the windspeed up to 55kph+ to make this happen – but we did it. I am proud of everyone in the team. We didn’t give up and pushed hard, trail blazing all the way to the summit!
