Will Buxton Instagram – Back in Zandvoort, Lawrence and Jolyon set a challenge for the F1TV crew to each design and paint a pair of sneakers for Austin, to be judged and then auctioned for charity. This is my (very F1 nerdy) effort, paying tribute to my favourite F1 livery of all time, the 1993 Ligier JS39 “Art car” designed by Hugo Pratt. It ran for the first time on this weekend exactly 30 years ago with Martin Brundle at the wheel and MB has signed both shoes, which reference the Japanese and Australian GPs at which the livery was used, under his helmet stripes which he very graciously allowed me to use.
