Aimee Carrero Instagram – I’ve heard the phrase “the days are long but the years are short” a lot lately. It’s a favorite among parents meditating on the passage of time while raising children, but, I wonder if it applies to all creative endeavors? ⁣ ⁣ Growing anything from scratch is a metamorphic labor. I’ve sewn many seeds in my lifetime, to mixed results. I’ve over-watered some plants to the detriment of others. I’ve grown tired and loathsome of my skills. I’ve taken much time to consider that maybe I have a cursed thumb—and that a garden is just not in the cards. ⁣ ⁣ But sometimes, there is God in a superbloom. Sometimes, fruit appears and keeps appearing. Sometimes, one has nothing to do with the result.⁣ ⁣ This is @mistertimrock to me. Our marriage is a blessing I have not earned. The maintenance is joyful and even when it’s not, it is done with much reverence. ⁣ ⁣ Happy anniversary, my love. ⁣ ⁣ With you, the days are short and the years are shorter.
