Aishwarya Sakhuja Instagram – 1. HEAT AND BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS
During warmer months, it is especially important for people with diabetes to stay properly hydrated. Dehydration can cause blood sugar to rise as the glucose in your blood becomes more concentrated.

High temperatures can also cause blood vessels to dilate, which can enhance insulin absorption, potentially leading to low blood sugar.

2.HOW IS BLOOD SUGAR CONNECTED TO YOUR PERIODS
It’s all about those pesky hormones. Estrogen and progesterone control both your menstrual cycle and your blood glucose, so when you experience fluctuations in your blood sugar levels it can often be attributed to a certain point in your monthly cycle. When estrogen and progesterone are at their highest level, they affect insulin, which is also a hormone. This can cause your blood glucose to rise if your body becomes more resistant to the effects of insulin.

3. STRESS AND BLOOD GLUCOSE
When stressed, the body prepares itself by ensuring that enough sugar or energy is readily available. Insulin levels fall, glucagon and epinephrine (adrenaline) levels rise and more glucose is released from the liver. At the same time, growth hormone and cortisol levels rise, which causes body tissues (muscle and fat) to be less sensitive to insulin. As a result, more glucose is available in the blood stream.

4.PANIC/ANXIETY ATTACK
Everyday stress and anxiety from life can affect the patient’s insulin and glucose function, which can exacerbate their diabetes. Plus, anxiety in people without diabetes can put them at risk of weight gain and high cholesterol which can eventually lead them to hyperglycemia.

5 DIARRHOEA
An illness like a cold, the flu, or any condition that makes you throw up or gives you diarrhea can also boost your blood sugar. So can an infection. That means you have to stay on top of your blood sugar levels.
