Celina Jaitly Instagram – My biggest blessing in life has been the platform, voice and power that God gave me to fight for repealing of section 377 and in general equal rights for the #lgbt community in India.

My over two decade long journey has been so fruitful and blessed and dreadful at the same time. From death and rape threats to loosing friends and work I have experienced it all on my over 20 years journey towards becoming a @unitednations @free.equal equality champion and ambassador.

Today I offer gratitude to the universe for September 6th 2018 when a five-judge Bench unanimously struck down Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, to the extent that it criminalised same-sex relations between consenting adults. A decision that put an end to an era of persecution and fight for justice of the #indian #lgbtq🌈 community. I
am so thankful to all the LGBTQIA who allowed me to stand with them in this fight.

My journey now continues with UN free and equal, I stand for equality on many different levels and Support policies at school, work, or other places that help protect LGBT people from discrimination.

I want people to know that even if the issues seem small, they can have a big impact on people’s lives, so come be an “ALLY”. Allies are important and welcome supporters of the LGBT community. They can be effective and powerful voices for LGBT equality, and can not only help LGBT people feel comfortable coming out, but also help others understand the importance of equality and fairness for all people.

Celina Jaitly Instagram – Makeup and hair inspired by the 18th century Lucknavi courtesan-

PURI DUNIYA KE JAZBAAT EK TARAF, TUJHSE WO PEHLI MULAQAT EK TARAF !!

“Tawaifs , the Awadhi term for highly skilled courtesans, rose to prominence between the 18th and 19th centuries in the royal courts of Awadh, part of present-day Uttar Pradesh. They sang, danced and were the purveyors of all that was considered good taste and high fashion. They took Persian influences from the courts of Shia kings and married them with Indian forms, and from them we inherit the Kathak and the dadra and thumri.
They were forced into prostitution by the British in the 1920’s
as colonial mores and ideas strengthened, the

tawaifs slowly began to lose their prestige and demand. They could no longer sustain themselves financially by dancing and singing for their royal patrons. Sensing the decline of their kothas and dreading a push into prostitution, the multi-talented tawaifs began migrating to other professions.
