Get a woman’s take. Proud to support women making films and the 8th annual Through Her Lens: The Tribeca CHANEL Women’s Filmmaker Program.

The day after our last Carlyle performance, I jumped on a plane and spent the next eighteen weeks diving into two projects that gripped me. I’m looking forward to sharing more about the process, and the wonderful humans I shared these experiences with.
Still traveling, reflecting, cataloging all that I am appreciative of. Longest I’ve been road bound for some time, reaping all the rewards. Sweet discovery.
More to come.

My thoughts are with the women of Iran.
With Iranians bravely speaking out against a brutal regime committing crimes against humanity. Peaceful protestors risking their lives to demand change.

In my opinion, it comes down to this: Women and their doctors should be making decisions about their bodies. That’s it. The government does not belong here nor does religion. I would never tell a person what to do with their body.
Nearly fifteen years ago I was speaking to a group of older women who knew better. They told me to keep an eye on women’s health and choice issues. They told me about their fight. About friends they had tragically lost to back-alley abortions. They warned me that I would need to fight my whole life to keep my own rights alive. What they told me seemed almost impossible then. And here we are. I wish I could reach out to those women and extend my great sadness.
We saw this coming. This is only the beginning.
Today, I am devastated.
I am hopeful for a greater tomorrow.
