Lots of you may have heard me speaking about an interest in researching more about the use of hydrogen technology in aviation – but what’s all the buzz about?
If generated via electrolysis using renewable energy (a process used to split water into oxygen and hydrogen via electricity), hydrogen emits ZERO CO2 emissions – meaning we can use it as a fuel source to power aircraft over long distances, which will emit ZERO CO2!
Hydrogen can be used in propulsion in one of two ways; it can be converted into electrical power to compliment the use of gas turbines, or combusted through modified gas turbine engines – creating a hybrid-electric propulsion chain powered entirely by hydrogen which is extremely efficient! 😍✈️
Slowly but surely, engineering is leading the way towards a greener, cleaner planet for ourselves and future generations 🫶🏼🌍♻️
