Kathy Wu Instagram – Just like my relationship with body image, I’ve had a bitter sweet relationship with my Chinese background. I was ashamed of my Chinese name like my shame for chubby self; It’s not pleasant, it’s not socially acceptable. I named myself “Kathy” cuz “Jiaxing” is hard to pronounce for Americans.
A lady complimented my Chinese name when I made a credit card purchase. She asked how to pronounce my name; I paused ( trying to control my emotions), and told her: Jia Xing.
What I said in this movie is true, that was how my parents named me. 🤣 #ᴄᴀʟʟᴍᴇʙʏᴍʏɴᴀᴍᴇ
