Nubya Garcia Instagram – 3 years ago today, I released my debut album Source into the world… what a beautiful journey it’s been since then.
Seeing it live in so many spaces that I could only dream as possible. Breaking through the boxes and ceilings that so many people placed on me, giving me hope that my music had a place in the world.
Thank you so much to all of you who have been a part of that journey, whether you saw it live, bought the record, played it or heard on the radio, wrote or read about it, watched my tiny desk, whether you streamed it, shared it with your friends and fam, if you’ve spoken to me at a show and shown your support, however you found it.. I wanna thank you from the bottom of heart. I’m so proud to look back on this body of work.
There is so so much that goes into being a musician these days, way more than just learning your instrument, and that can be such a challenge. I’m so grateful to my band, my team, and my community that has held me down throughout.
It’s important to remember things you have achieved. At the same time also keep looking forward. Keep pushing yourself and keep striving, and you can do this whilst also taking your time. Releasing music constantly doesn’t fit with everyone’s workflow and that’s ok. The vault is building, trust.
Quality is key and making music that I’m proud of, that represents the space and time where I’m at, is my mission.
