Regina Spektor Instagram – The horror of what’s happening in Israel is beyond words, but I will try to write a few anyway… It’s beyond comprehension… It’s beyond the realm of anything I can truly grasp. The closest I’ve come to understand it is when I saw someone who is there describe it as Israel’s September 11th… the shock, the pain, the anger, the magnitude. Another friend put it even more directly and simply: Killing Jews isn’t fighting for human rights. It never will be. It’s just murder. My sorrow overflows on this holiday that is supposed to be pure joy. It’s not an accident that this holiday was picked… but here we are, still praying and trying to pass the traditions to our children and grandchildren and share them with friends… Love must prevail. Peace must prevail. Hope is always with us… For those who have been killed- may their memory be for a blessing, and may all those terrified kidnapped souls be delivered home safe as soon as possible. 💔 The images are from the last time I was in Israel, November 2019… the last photo is of me and Sam.
