Ria Nalavade Instagram – So this was awesome.
I participated in the Screenwriters Association script lab and pitch fest last year with two films. I didn’t get selected even in round 1. This year, I applied again and wrote perhaps the MOST personal story of mine, battling time, illness, shoot and more – through an original webshow.
Not to win, not to prove anything, but just to complete it. And I made it to the top 25!!
At this year’s SWA pitch fest, I pitched my show ‘Pretty Ugly’ to 40 (that’s right FORTY) producers and I’m excited to see where it takes me! I made the most awesome friends here – each of them with a brilliant story, each of them AWESOME people. Who says writers are boring? These guys are the most happening, creative, genuinely funny, kind and inspirational people I’ve come across in recent times.
Thankyou @cinema_is_forever for being the best teacher and @swaindiaorg for empowering opportunities like these! This community is beautiful and I feel so warm and welcome here ♥️
