So, after training for hours last night in the simulator sampai sakit pinggang, I went on the course today to apply the new tempo Dani and I worked on, as well as this new-found magic tip my caddy Ali gave me, of focusing on my LEFT ARM to drive, chip and putt – and today, according to @effendilovescoffee, I’m finally playing proper golf, woohoooo!

It’s really so challenging OMG – takes so much discipline to OVERRIDE what your body naturally wants you to do. But I’ve learned that if you forget your ego, it’s a lot easier for you to learn fast. I’m gonna keep working at this game till I can play with the big boys and girls real soon🏌♀️🏌♀️🏌♀️

Grinding grinding grinding my 7 iron shots in the golf simulator tonight. With my son Dani coaching me for the first hour, and on my own for the next hour. I hit my PB of 89.9 today, woohoooo! I can’t imagine learning to golf without being able to playback a video to watch my good shots and spot my mistakes. Training in a simulator definitely helps so much! Ok, sakit pinggang already now 😅

Part 2 of my birthday trip to #Vietnam 😄 Hiked up to Lying Dragon Point, to see an aerial view of the same river we rowed on the day before. Even at 8am, it was scorching hot like it was high noon. But we soldiered on until we got to the top, and the payoff was the wonderful views… and the sense of accomplishment that I imagine hikers feel.

Behaving like typical tourists, we decided we must experience #hanoitrainstreet, where a train passes through just inches in front of you 😄
We waited along with a couple of hundred tourists in cafes that have sprung up all along the most narrow stretch of railway tracks in #HanoiOldQuarter, for the 7pm train that finally passed through at 7.30 for all of ONE fairly thrilling second.
@effendilovescoffee calls it a scam, but I’m gonna say it’s part of the #Hanoi tourist experience, haha. The drama and theatre of it all was a thrill enough for me 😄 Train Street, Hanoi

@effendilovescoffee and I try to drive out every weekend now, to do a bit of #CutiCutiMalaysia. A couple of weeks ago, we chose #SEREMBAN and were so pleasantly surprised to discover the gorgeous @sembayuvilla, an hour plus drive from KL. What sums this place up for me was #TRANQUILITY. The drive along the new highway was so scenic, the food we discovered along the way was yummy and the room was well appointed and so comfy!

In celebration of #malaysiaday, I’d love to share with you a clip from the extended version of the inflight safety video I created and co-directed with my friend @yusryabdhalim for @malaysiaairlines – Something that I really feel depicts MY dream Malaysia. This remains one of my personal favourite projects, and I’m so grateful to the folks at MAG for agreeing to the concept. This version
My vision was to feature a diverse cast that represented ALL Malaysians who would fly Malaysia Airlines – from notable Malaysians who made the country proud in so many ways, to the Makcik Kiah / Auntie Gang, to talented people from our creative industry, to the Mat Rocks and “braders”, to the kids who are our future. People of all race, colour and creed, who add colour and life to our beautiful Malaysia.
This was probably the fastest @miapalencia and I came up with the music and lyrics, because she just GOT IT from the moment i briefed her. I really wanted the music to depict the essence and variety of Malaysian music genres, and iloved Mia’s idea of weaving in a familiar local folk song. #Sabah, you know you have one helluva talented woman in Mia. We need to bring her back home!
Anyway, thank you to all of you who appreciated the work my team and I put in on this project, filming over 3 long days and nights in Ramadan last year. I hope it makes you smile every time you fly Malaysia Airlines, and reminds you of the spirit of Malaysia we must always work hard to protect. Satu Dua Tiga, Jom! 🇲🇾
