Many many moons ago I played an alien on @theneighbors, a hilarious show by#ThisIsUs creator and all around genius @danfogelman. We had an amazing finale in which the incredible @hamillhimself graced us with his awesome presence💕 I was DYING to meet him, but had no scenes with him and didn’t want to be THAT girl: knocking on his trailer door fan girling all over him (that’s probably all that happens to the guy when he’s outside his home), so I resigned myself to the fact that I would never meet him, but was grateful to be on a show that he deemed worthy of his presence. Then… A knock on my trailer door: I am asked to come to set because… Mark Hamill wants to meet me… Luckily, I got anxious and excited at the same time and my adrenaline shot up because otherwise I probably would have just dropped dead from the shock. So… I went to meet him. A truly lovely, sweet, funny, sincere and completely down to earth human, he said he was a huge fan of the show and of mine and that he enjoyed watching me (again… very close to at least a full on coma #adrenaline) and asked if we could take a picture together. I honestly don’t remember details. It was fairly close to an out of body experience for me. When I was a kid the Star Wars Trilogy (the original, of course) were three of very few videos I had (yes, and a collection of James Bond films #tomboy much?) and I watched them over and over again (and spent countless hours trying to move things with my mind…. It’s possible that I still do 🤓). So I felt like a little kid. It’s in moments like this – the moments in which I’m reminded what and who crafted my love for acting- that I am filled with so much awe and gratitude I could burst. Mark Hamill, prince among men, thank you for doing our little show, thank you for your kindness, thank you for doing more for this little Nigerian girl than you could ever know🙏🏽
