I was honored to attend Better Middler’s Annual Hulaween Gala benefiting the @nyrp New York Restoration Project.
#NYRP owns and operates over 50 community gardens and 80 acres of parkland throughout the five boroughs of New York City. It was founded by Bette Midler in 1995 to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to green spaces (fun fact: over 1.6 million New Yorkers live within a 10-min walk of a NYRP green space). The organization has made major contributions to the New York landscape and community health, from bringing a functionally extinct native Chestnut tree species back to life in Highbridge Park to helping turn the largest wetland in Manhattan from an illegal dumping ground into a flourishing living shoreline.
