Elton John Instagram – Ahead of #WorldAIDSDay, I am honoured to receive recognition for my lifetime work with @ejaf from @appg.hiv.aids during a special reception at Speakers House. It was great to meet with political leaders, with @davidfurnish and @anneaslett, to discuss how England could be the first country to end new cases of HIV. We can’t end AIDS without the backing of the @ukgovofficial and today, we’re delighted by @victoriaatkinsmp’s announcement to expand opt-out HIV testing to every high prevalence area across the country. My Foundation and partners led the world’s first HIV Social Impact Bond in London which proved that opt-out HIV testing in A&Es works to find and diagnose HIV in people who didn’t know they were living with the virus. Not only does it save money, more importantly, it saves lives. The earlier people know they are living with HIV, they can start treatment and prevent the spread to others.
