I had to approach Khaleesi’s Jorah Mormont in the airport when we were moving to Singapore 🇸🇬 Why? Because we’d just finished watching all of #GameofThrones the week before but also this wonderful actor, Iain Glen, played Laura’s grandfather in the movie The Relief of Belsen.
Laura’s grandfather saved many lives when the British Army liberated Belsen concentration camp in 1945.
Iain Glen was shocked to be approached by me saying “hello, you played my wife’s grandfather in a movie please come and meet her” and not even mention Game of Thrones! 😂
He was really happy to meet the real life granddaughter and great grandchildren of one of the true life heros he had played in a movie 🎥 !
He was heading to Northern Ireland to shoot the next series of GoT, we told him we were heading to Singapore to live.
AND then he said to Laura “and your grandfather lived in Singapore didn’t he?” He had done his research! Laura’s grandfather was Chief Medical Officer for the British Army in Singapore in the 1960s.
Very cool and made us feel that it was a good luck moment, circle of life, for moving to Singapore 🇸🇬
