J. Harrison Ghee Instagram – While I am still processing the reality that I have won a Tony award, in my reflection I have come to one conclusion, I’m proud of myself and the journey to this moment. As I said in my speech, my mother taught me that I possessed something special that I could use to help others in the world and I always believed deep down I could achieve great things, but to stand here in this moment is humbling and grounding all at once. There have been many people who have played major roles in inspiring, encouraging and supporting my dreams and I could spend all day thanking them. The entire awards season I received so much love from every direction, those I hold close and complete strangers. Every bit of it was filling and fueling. You all really gave me the drive to show up and walk in purpose, to give all I have to this show. I dreamed of walking in moments like this as a kid, but they all seemed like fantasies that were so far fetched. I’m grateful to God for allowing me to see this moment and to be a glimmer of hope for so many. When you put in the work and walk with intention, anything is possible!!! Never stop dreaming and believing no matter what people may say to you, because your experience doesn’t have to make sense to anyone but you! Walk in your truth boldly and know that you are supported and loved.
