We stand on the shoulders of the Outdoor State and it is getting harder for our elected officials to ignore us. The window to “send” is starting to open. Failure is not an option. Team work makes the dream work. ✌️ Repost -@protectourwinters- The Hill in DC is a different kind of terrain for our athletes. But nonetheless, they climb that one too. Last week, POW founder @jeremyjones, POW Athletes @kateplusfate and @grahamzimmerman, and @alik.enney from @burton joined us on Capitol Hill. Since 2009, our lobbying trips have been incredibly impactful, with our Alliance showing up dialed to Democratic and Republican offices alike to tell their climate stories. Last week’s trip felt extra special. This year, we’ve been working on a new bill – legislation that will greatly benefit communities implementing clean energy infrastructure. With the bill dropping this Fall, we are locking in critical, tangible pieces to meet our climate goals. We are continually drumming up support from both sides of the aisle for not only our new climate legislation, but Arctic Refuge protection, clean energy infrastructure across the country and the preservation of public lands. In a day and a half, we tallied up a total of 8 meetings with Representatives and Senators, an impactful DPCC lunch with Senate Democrats and sessions with climate policy experts from The White House.
