Justin Welby Instagram – Today I was delighted to receive an Apostles Edition of the @saintjohnsbible in honour and memory of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It was presented at Lambeth Palace by @saintjohnsabbey and University in Minnesota, USA, and is the first handwritten, illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine monastery in 500 years. It will be housed for public view at @lampallib. It was good to meet those who have dedicated over 11 years to creating this Bible – using ancient practices to bring a fresh expression of God’s word into the 21st century, with the ultimate hope of reigniting faith in God and love for the Bible around the world. I pray their work will bear much fruit – and that by so diligently revealing the beauty of Scripture, many will come to faith in Christ.
Justin Welby Instagram – Today’s decision on the Rwanda policy leaves desperate people fleeing conflict and persecution in limbo. I hope the Government will reflect and reconsider its approach. Let’s put aside the politics of division and work together to build an asylum system based on fairness, compassion and the God-given dignity of every human being.
