Justin Welby Instagram – Today I was delighted to receive an Apostles Edition of the @saintjohnsbible in honour and memory of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It was presented at Lambeth Palace by @saintjohnsabbey and University in Minnesota, USA, and is the first handwritten, illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine monastery in 500 years. It will be housed for public view at @lampallib. It was good to meet those who have dedicated over 11 years to creating this Bible – using ancient practices to bring a fresh expression of God’s word into the 21st century, with the ultimate hope of reigniting faith in God and love for the Bible around the world. I pray their work will bear much fruit – and that by so diligently revealing the beauty of Scripture, many will come to faith in Christ.
