I’m looking forward to having some of your students join our team. Often times we don’t always make the connection between the sacrifices of others and our enjoyed freedoms. Medgar Evers is definitely one of those heroes that sacrificed his life for our right to vote , fair housing , jobs etc and everything denied black folks during the Civil Rights era of the sixties that in many increasingly diabolical ways we are still fighting for. Murdered at 38 yrs old in his own driveway, shot in the back by a sniper simply for wanting America to live up to its creed. Your death has not been in vain sir.
