Paul Sidoti Instagram – The year was 1993. I was 21 years old and since the age of 16, when my parents purchased my first recording studio setup, I was an ambitious songwriter who worked tirelessly trying to master the skills of my biggest heroes. @bryanadams , @davidfoster , @eltonjohn and others inspired me to great lengths. I was completely immersed in what I was doing and how I could get the most out of what I had.

This was the era pre-Pro Tools and digital workstations. I had a Tascam 388 8 track reel to reel tape machine and a wealth of keyboards, synthesizers, and drum modules. I used a Macintosh monochrome computer equipped with a sequencing software called Performer that had a 40 mb hard drive. That’s right, 40 megabyte. I started to write for an original album (cassette actually) that I planned on releasing to sell at my cover gigs for extra money. What I discovered in the process of creating the songs was how passionate I felt playing, recording, arranging, and producing them. I would lock myself in the basement for hours tweaking every detail. It was an exciting time in my life as I had big dreams and was all in on this music career thing.

So here it is 30 years later. After much coaxing by family and friends saying “where can I get something you’ve written?”, I’ve decided to release one of my favorites from that batch of songs. This came to me very quickly and I assembled the track faster than any I’ve written as I had a clear vision of what I wanted it to sound like. As a kid who grew up in the 80’s, it draws from my favorite elements and sounds of that era. I really miss songs that had this type of production. Most of all, I hope more than anything, it reminds you of that first love in your life and the innocence you felt. I’m so grateful for having a wonderful supportive family, friends, the greatest gig on the planet and most of all you. 😊

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️🙏🏻
