I landed my first backflip in Hastings the day before the @vansparkseries started in 2014. I had landed a couple two years earlier in Australia so I knew it was a possibility. Landing this trick at home in Vancouver at my home park was a dream come true. I went on to land 3 over 3 days at that event in front of my friends and family. I love giving people their very first skateboard. This weekend in Victoria BC, was particularly magical. Giving out skateboards at a brand new skatepark is a recipe for success. I watched countless kids take their very first roll on boards I just handed them.
