He’s been on some awesome adventures to track down killer whales creating waves in Antarctica, pumas in Patagonia, surfing marine iguanas in the Galapagos, wild dogs hunting for their very cute pups in Botswana and even close calls with jungle elephants in the Central African Republic. The team also showcases the challenges facing these species and celebrates some amazing people working to turnaround the human relationship with the natural world. @disneyplus One of my favorite scenes is in the first episode - Patagonia Pumas - where they captured an interaction between a wild puma and sheep guarding dogs at night. Ronan Donovan Instagram – The bonds between wolves sustains them through challenging hunts, territorial disputes with other packs, raising pups, and much more. Plus, it just feels good for them to be close and to be in relationship – releasing dopamine and other ‘feel good’ neurochemicals when they see each other or when they rub against one another. Here Mr. Blue (right) is greeted by his mate, the White Female, back in March of 2015 as they were courting each other. Eventually, they went on to form the Wapiti Lake Pack in the heart of Yellowstone National Park.

Ronan Donovan Instagram – Some of my favorite encounters in Yellowstone aren’t just with the wildlife.
Photo 1 – Taylor Ganz @trganz and I out on Yellowstone’s winter landscape. Some of Taylor’s recent work surrounds forensic investigation of animal kill sites. Check out her 2022 paper – Wildlife whodunnit: forensic identification of predators to inform wildlife management and conservation.
