Eradicate anti-Blackness, not books. Eradicate dehumanization, not the unhoused and hungry. Power to the PEOPLE. ♥️ Poster of @blacktransliberation Wednesdays in NYC. @blacktransliberation is led by @qween_jean (and brought to life every week by a beautiful powerful group of queer and trans family :)) and aims to end homelessness within the trans population by providing access and resources from community partners that empower and celebrate the TGNC community. By keeping trans people off the street, we can dismantle the current 35 year life expectancy of Black Trans people and prevent systemic oppression. @blacktransliberation welcomes all. We are queer, trans, cis and intersex. We are gay, lesbian, bisexual and pansexual. We are men, women and non-binary. Some of us don’t like labels, some of us do. We are Black, Brown, white and mixed. We are not a monolith. We are real people. Regardless of what folks experience through a particular lens that entertains itself when writing and delivering stories about fictional versions of us, we here are real. Our lives matter. And there are many states in the US currently attempting genocide against our trans siblings and most marginalized within the LGBTQIA community. Will you join us in the fight for true liberation? What side of history will you be on?
Sara Ramirez Instagram – Showing up in solidarity with @wgaeast for the Writers Guild strike and picket line in NYC. Better contracts NOW! The content we consume (and some of us perform 🙋🏽) would be NOTHING without writers. Thank you to all who are showing up to picket, pass out water, coverage, and all who are leading this action. I am here in solidarity as a member of WGA sibling union SAG/AFTRA. Power to the people! Also can I just say how many hilarious and creative picket signs there are? BECAUSE WRITERS WROTE THEM.
.
Pic in color of 2 signs in the picket line (I’m holding the one that’s about writing the lines actors say:)) that read: “Spoiler Alert: We write the lines that the actors say. WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA EAST”, and “#WGA STRONG, WRITERS GUILD ON STRIKE!”
