Tom Fletcher Instagram – Once upon a time, Tom Fletcher awoke with a vision of a blue dinosaur, pulling a young boy in a wheelchair through the sky, like a reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh.
He had wanted to write a children’s book, and this image turned out to be the perfect starting point.
There was just one problem: Fletcher had no idea what it was like to be a disabled child, and did not know anyone who used a wheelchair.
Fletcher turned to Whizz Kidz, the UK’s leading charity for disabled young people, for help. Almost a decade later, he is a patron for Whizz Kidz, and, last month, published the sixth instalment of the books, A Christmasaurus Carol.
