Aja Instagram – “Welcome to Miyake-Mugler” – @snookielanore It made my eyes watery to watch this video and hear the chant MIYAKEEE MUGLERR 😭 I feel like I am home. This is my 4th (really 3rd) mainstream ballroom house and I feel like I am home. From schoolboy realness, twist, drags runway and now fem queen runway I have had a really tumultuous journey. I left ballroom a nobody in 2016 and when I came back in 2019 nobody remembered who I was but they knew who Aja was. I came back into the scene to vogue as a MF but somehow …. I got up in and never peeled out 😂 and now I am a Mugler and a FQ runway. Life has played a game but baby… I’m loving this journey and my love for ballroom over the last 4 years has rebuilt and the gratitude and love I have for this culture has multiplied. I feel like I’m finally finding my footing here. I can’t wait to see where this new journey takes me 🫶🏽〽️〽️ Looking back to my runway journey and just being grateful for the growth.
