Alessandra de Rossi Instagram – Unlike Ella, the firecracker of a sous chef who has to step up in Chef Chico’s absence at the renowned restaurant Hain, Alessandra De Rossi says, “Hindi kasi ako competitive by nature. It’s either I win without trying, or, ‘Guys, kayo na ‘yon.’” But the way she relates to her Replacing Chef Chico character is deeper than that. “Hindi niya nakukuha ‘yong respect na automatically given to a guy. And ‘yong trust na, ‘O, if the guy is the head, wala tayong magiging problema. Pero ‘pag babae, naku, ang daming arte niyan.’ Emotional daw o hindi niya deserve ang spot because she’s a girl.” She observes, “‘Pag lalaki ‘yong nasa ibabaw, magaling siya, eh. ‘Pag babae, ah, may ginawa ‘yan.” Getting into the role, Alessandra went through culinary training. But a bigger culture shock for her? “Nasa left ko si Piolo, nasa right ko si Sam,” she says, “tapos ako ‘yong nasa gitna? Ang ganda ko, ha.
