Anita Corsini Instagram – Oh how I miss the teacher days – isn’t it funny how our first passions in life never leave us? My background is in mathematics and I was an educator for 7 years, developing curriculum, working on accreditation for our school, helping students get into college, and even earning a Master’s Degree in mathematics education. I had a family friend reach out and ask me to help them with their Precalculus this week so I literally crawled in my attic to get out my old lesson plans. (Yes, I am a dinosaur who still has “hard copies” of everything.) 🦕
It lit a little spark in my heart as I remember the days of teaching. I was in my twenties, and all I knew then was this was one path. As time went on my path clearly changed, and there were times I questioned that. If I am good at teaching then should I stay a teacher? If this is what God created me for then I should be doing that? My perspective was limited then I only knew what was right in front of me.
Fast forward to now, I am a very active Realtor and Designer – working in a field that only God could have equipped me with the skills I needed. I’m raising some pretty amazing kids and even had a show on TV. Would I have ever guessed that? No. At the time was I ready for that? No. Did God knit all of my skills that I learned teaching and the amazing people I met along the way to weave a tapestry for where I am in life right now? YES. YES. YES. It’s amazing and wonderful and challenging all at the same time. If you find yourself questioning what you are doing or where you will be in the future, I encourage you to seize the opportunity in front of you today and trust that it will be used in the future. Nothing in life is wasted. Nothing. 🩷
