Anne Leighton Instagram – What an honor to receive an invitation 21 years ago by the @fdny and the Counseling Service Unit of FDNY, to utilize my degree in Psychology and experience to create a process for the firefighters and families who were experiencing such incredible grief, shock and loss from the events of that horrific day, and it’s aftermath. I spoke with firefighters grieving the loss of their own, families who lost a father or mother, survivors of PTSD within the FDNY. True, it was a collective experience that we will #neverforget – you never forget the gravity of horrific acts people can inflict upon another, but more importantly…we choose to remember how we New Yorkers came together in deep support and love for one other in the face of tragedy, #newyorkstrong 🗽💪🏼👨‍🚒No matter what, always choose love and be good to people.
